Easy to dismiss at first glance with its silly visuals, memes, anime models, and a deliberately absurd tone, Zero Investment turns out to be a surprisingly deep and fun experience.

The story loosely follows Shadow of Chernobyl’s structure where you play as as Hattie, a young woman looking for her loved one who vanished inside Parasha 2, the world inside a dying video game. Filled with characters obsessed with loot and skins, it’s intentionally post-ironic: silly on the surface, but surprisingly sincere underneath. It offers a great gameplay loop with solid build variety to experiment with your gear and artifacts, real choices and a karma system that will influence the story and the 9 different endings. It has amazing replayability, New Game+ and achievements to unlock, incentivizing you to explore all the different paths the game has to offer.

It plays like an arcade RPG looter shooter: fast combat, constantly breaking weapons, tiered gear with perks, active abilities tied to suits and hats, and over a hundred artifacts that radically change how you play. It’s definitely not a traditional STALKER mod, but a standalone game built on the OGSR engine. A fun, unique, divisive, and genuinely refreshing project the modding scene needs more of!
